Glaucus Index
This index was compiled originally as an aid to the editorial team of Glaucus, and is being continuously updated. Compilation has involved an immense amount of work, and some omissions, inconsistencies and inaccuracies will inevitably have crept in. We would be glad to hear of any that you come across, so that corrections can be made.
Issues indexed: volumes 01 to 06 inclusive. 1990 to 1995.
References are given in the order volume number, part number, page number (e.g. 05.01.39). Two or more page numbers separated by commas (e.g. 05.01.15,39) indicates two references in the same issue.
Main entries are under common (English) name if one is in regular use, cross-referenced from the Latin (scientific) name. If no common name is available, entries are under Latin names, which are then usually grouped together (e.g. Gastropods: Oenopota rufa). A Latin name in brackets (e.g. Hinia (Nassarius) reticulata) indicates that the second name has been superseded by the first, while a name in brackets (e.g. Dermochelys (not Demochelys)) indicates that the name in brackets is a misspelling that has been used erroneously in Glaucus.
References or cross references given for species, localities (grouped by geographical area e.g. England, North-east), and type of activity (diving, rockpooling, strandlining, etc. In cross-references, subentries are separated by colons (Entry: Subentry: further subcategory etc.). Separate entries are separated by semicolons (;).
Asterisks against entry numbers indicate the importance of the entry:
no star = a mention, usually with some incidental information so don't ignore it
* = more than just a mention, and/or an illustration
** = a significant/important entry
*** = major article
