The
Axmouth
Sea Discovery Centre is opened at Axmouth,
Devon (between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis). This is the smaller type of Public
Aquarium, with the seawater pumped in from the Axe estuary.Report

National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth
The Aquarium of the Marine Biological Association of the U.K. at The Hoe,
Plymouth will be closing in the spring of 1998. It will be replaced by
a modern large National Marine Aquarium
in the New Barbican Area of Plymouth in the Sutton Harbour Marina.
The London Aquarium on the South bank near the House of Parliament opened
on Good Friday, March 1997. The Aquarium will be open every day of the
year except Christmas Day, and will be open to 19.30 during the summer

New Aquarium in North Scotland
The Macduff Marine Aquarium opened its
doors to the public on Friday 18 April 1997. This new family attraction
is on the shores of the Moray Firth, east Scotland, close to the busy fishing
harbour at Macduff near Banff. Contact: Gilbert Summers, Manger, Tel: 01261
833369. The Aquarium will open daily all the year round. The displays are
of marine life found in the Moray Firth.
Tenby
'Silent World' Aquarium, Pembrokeshire, is housed in an old chapel. The
proprieters are Mike and Gillian Batt.
