A study of rock pool life at Crackington Haven, North Cornwall, with a subtle reminder that humans are never far away. The craggy North Cornwall coastline provides some good rockpooling sites, with an amazing range of strange and colourful creatures living amongst the seaweeds. Crackington Haven is also suffering from the beauty of its (rapidly disappearing) pebbly beach - the quartz riddled stones have been collected for home and garden decoration for many years. The subsequent lack of a stone bank at the top of the beach is causing huge erosion problems.                           Robin Paris
