- It is sad for me to announce the death of the marine expert
John Barker (1934 - 1998) who died on 27 August 1998 and was
buried in Mill Lane Cemetery, Shoreham-by-Sea
on 4 September 1998.
John Barker was a Marine Biological Collector and contributed valuable articles to Glaucus and other publications.
He was an accomplished SCUBA diver at the beginning of the sport. It is fair to say that if it was not for the influence of John that the British Marine Life Study Society would not exist.
