Public Transport
- If you are a car owner it is hard to imagine
that you could put up with the squalor and unreliability of trains and
buses. Non-car owners are likely to find public transport to be too expensive
especially during the peak periods, which seriously restricts job opportunities
for the lower paid workers in Sussex.
In January 2000, 25% of rail passengers nationwide said they were dissatisified with the service provided.

- Train services to London "Victoria" and
Brighton are frequent and quick. Many other long distance train journeys
are restricted by the need to transfer to different main-line stations
in London.

Routes
Travel into Shoreham has caused problems to visitors not familiar
with the area. One of the reasons is that the A27 extension to the By-Pass
through the Southwick Hill has not got a turn-off to Shoreham when travelling
from the east (see the plan below).

The easiest and quickest (but not the shortest) way into town from
the A27 is to use the spider-like junction at Old
Shoreham (see the plan below).

The A259 Coast Road is only suitable for short distance travel between Brighton to Shoreham and Worthing. The road is congested during daylight hours.
Shoreham-by-Sea is not even included on Microsoft Auto-Route Express
CD-ROM.
The town is included on the Attica
