The June 2000 issue of Computer Buyer contains a full version of Eudora Pro 4.2, the popular EMail software program. It has got to be better than Microsoft Outlook Express, but looks rather similar. The lack of suitable EMail software is a considerable problem to me. My Pegasus system has just duplicated all its directories, and rearranged the files in incorrectly named directories (I should have backed up more often). The system is unsatisfactory, but in a lot of important respects (even excluding viruses) is better than Microsoft Outlook Express. There is a snag with Eudora 4.2, inasmuch, you can only import mail and your address book from Outlook Express 4, not Outlook Express 5. You can also import from Netscape Messenger. There is the option of going
to the Eudora web site and uploading
the version to Eudora 4.3. There are apparently two versions, the
Sponsored
version which is free with adverts, and the Paid version. This new
version is an upgrade, and you need first to have loaded a version of Eudora
4.0 (or above) on to your hard disc.
Sussex Web Sites Historical Snippets Marlipins Fossil Sea Urchin Echinocorys scutatus For year 2000, some of the most important exhibits, the fossil echinoids etc. have been moved from their prominent position and replaced by some boring girly stuff. They are now located on the east wall of the lower floor at ground level. One bonus that the lighting in the new location is diffused. The move was done in the hurry, and I have arranged for the correct labels to put on the exhibits in time for Adur "World Oceans Day". Games & LeisureThis Board game is sold out and there is no likelihood of any more of them being made, despite demand through the Internet. Keep hold of your copy, if you have one. Please send in any details
of recommended games and web sites.
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY For any company or organisation wanting nationwide green publicity, there is an opportunity to sponsor the journal "Glaucus" of the British Marine Life Study Society. There remains sponsorship opportunities on the BMLSS (England) web site and other publications, including Torpedo. Sponsorship is also available for the Adur Torpedo Electronic News Bulletin and the Shoreham-by-Sea web pages (which preceded the Adur Resource Centre web site), which would be more suitable for a local firm(s). Web Site Design Services are available from Hulkesmouth Publishing Normal
advertisement rules apply.
Adur Torpedo was written, designed and distributed by Andy Horton. Links
to earlier issues (for subscribers who have downloaded the Bulletins only,
and web site visitors).
