25 December 2006
Christmas Day was overcast, with an air temperature of 6.7 ºC and a Light Breeze (Force 2) at midday. 

21 December 2006
At dusk a smallish, probably a male, Sparrowhawk was seen in the Hawthorn tree at the bottom of my south Lancing back garden (TQ 185 046).

A Red Admiral Butterfly and large bumblebee were disturbed in Corbyn Crescent, Shoreham.

A Great Northern Diver and three Red-breasted Mergansers swam in Shoreham Harbour in the canal at the eastern end by the fish merchants and Hove Lagoon.

A lump of Tertiary Lignite (sea coal) was washed up on Southwick beach.

11 December 2006
There was a Spotted Woodpecker in or north Shoreham garden (a large garden in Downside, near the Slonk Hill embankment, north of Buckingham Park, Shoreham-by-Sea), after an absence of several months.

A small Goldcrest flitted around the ground shrubbery in my south Lancing back garden (TQ 185 046).

At 3:37 pm it felt like being hit by a mini-tornado as the wind gust was measured at 61 mph (Light Tornado Intensity 1).

This female Sparrowhawk spent several minutes just before 2:00 pm on a branch of the Hawthorn at the bottom of my south Lancing back garden (TQ 185 046).

A Red-legged Partridge was seen wandering around the tiny paved gardens in Emerald Quay on Shoreham Beach. This bird wandered around and did not fly off immediately.

Wood Blewit, Lepista nuda, mushrooms grow on the leaf litter and not in the soil as written in some of the books. These mushrooms were still frequently seen in the the Maple Spinney between the Steyning Road and the Waterworks Road. The older mushrooms had lost their bluish tinge and were beginning to turn brownish. 
3 December 2006
At 4:12 am a gust of 59 mph (Storm Force 10) was recorded by the . No obvious damage was seen in Shoreham, although people were reported awoken by the noise of the wind.
