Local News
Plans have been submitted for secondary treatment works for the Sewage Treatment Works at Shoreham Harbour (adjacent to Southwick Beach). The sewage receives primary treatment at the moment before pumping out to sea by the long sea outfall.

There will be no objection by Adur District Council. It will mean an increase in lorry traffic to dispose of the additional waste (I assume). The exact route the lorries will take and their destination is not known.

This sewage works received a write-up in Glaucus a few years ago and was featured on the front page of the Daily Mirror.

    Obituary

The funeral of local boatbuilder and artist Arthur Godfrey was held at Worthing Crematorium on 22 December 2000, 12:40 pm.

Arthur can be seen playing darts and drinking a pint of cider in the King's Head, circa 1982.

He is nearest the dart board. It is rather a poor photograph.

    ADUR VALLEY EFORUM PAGE

    2 August 2000
The Adur Valley eForum covering all aspects of life in the Adur Valley commences. You can join by spending a few minutes on the following site, and then you can post messages on almost anything about life in Shoreham-by-sea and the Adur Valley, including, Lancing, Sompting, Southwick, Steyning and the smaller villages in the valley.

THE BEST WAY TO JOIN THE

ADUR VALLEY eFORUM

is to click on the link to the

logo, and register as a new member. Allow 10 minutes on-line, but the process should be much quicker.

Then you can go to the Adur Valley page and  register to join.

The following choices will have to be made:

    1)  Receive mail in a daily bulletin.

    2) Receive each EMail individually (this may result in too many EMails)

    3)  Choose not to receive EMails, which means you can visit the web page to choose what subjects look interesting. You can, also, just receive a list of the subjects in a daily digest.
If the latter applies, you will have to click on the menu item Messages

These choices can be altered at a later date. They can also be altered by me,  if you cannot work out how to do it.
