a sunny day, the highest air temperature of the year of 29°C
was attained at 2 pm. Met
Office Shoreham. This was the highest temperature since last
year.

A
great selection of birds at Mill Hill in the morning. The Red
Backed Shrike was still showing well &
catching flying insects. Also Spotted Flycatcher
and
Redstart.

A
Buzzard
quartered over the vineyard on the levels below and to the west of the
steep lower slopes of Mill Hill on a warm cloudy afternoon. Within an hour,
four Kestrels
hovered over Erringham Hill to the north of Mill
Hill Nature Reserve.

dry but cloudy for an afternoon visit to the lower slopes of Mill Hill
where a score or more Chalkhill Blues visited

Browns, Peacocks,
Red Admirals, occasional Brimstones

Wall
Brown, an Adonis
Blue and
Six-spotted
Burnet Moths.The visit was brief.

seal pup engineered a spectacular route
back to sea from Kingston Beach on a low spring tide.

venture out in the open on the upper slopes of Mill Hill.
Many
people, including Dawn Jayne Anthony-Unsted
saw the meteor Sar2667
from Widewater, Dawn
just happened to be looking at how bright the moon was in the early hours
when she saw it. It lit up our room.
