fresh like new Comma Butterfly was
one of just a few butterflies seen on the Downs Link beteeen Old Shoreham
and the Erringham Gap in the afternoon sunshine.

Dropwort
I was
in too much pain to wander around the steep lower slopes of Mill Hill where
Dropwort
was commonly seen in flower. Elderberry
was flowering and Hawthorn
was finished on the chalk downs. Knapweed
Broomrape was noted on the meadows south
of the Reservoir.

very battered Painted Lady Butterfly
was spotted on Mill Hill near the upper car park late in the afternoon.

small group of about a dozen House Martins
were spotted flying over the houses in the middle of Fishersgate on a sunny
morning. They were the first I had seen this year.
